Homework for Friday, March 1st (Early Release at 1pm)

1) All February Reading Logs due tomorrow (Sorry for asking for them a day early.) I will hand out March Reading Logs tomorrow.

* Spring Conferences will be held Thursday, March 21st from 4pm-8pm and Friday, March 22nd from 8am-12pm. The sign up page goes live tomorrow (I believe this is the correct link but I am not positive.) Conferences will be 15 minutes and students are expected to attend. We will review previous work and set academic goals for the remainder of the year. If you are out of town or unable to attend during this time, let me know and we can set up a phone conference.

* Reminder: Tomorrow (3/1) is an early release (B Schedule) and there is no school Monday (3/4)

Homework for Thursday, February 28th

1) February Reading Logs due tomorrow! Read for 20 minutes (or whatever you need to get to 300 minutes for the month).
2) Finish any math work not completed in class.

* Congratulations to Holly and Sean for having their amazing artwork displayed in the District Art Show last night!
* Six Flags Reading Challenge ends tomorrow as well, so please submit your green reading form if you chose to participate.
* Thank you to all of the families who have placed Scholastic Book orders! I will process the class order on Friday for anyone still looking to order.
* Reminder - Friday is an early release (1pm). It will be a "B" Day, so no specials.
* Some students have decided to start memorizing "Pi". It's quite a challenge, and I put a tab on the blog if anyone wants to challenge themselves. (It's not the full number, just the first 100 or so digits.)

Homework for Wednesday, February 20th

1) Read, read, read!!! This long weekend is a great time to really dive into a book! You have a goal of 300 minutes for the month and this would be a great time to knock out a big portion of those minutes!

** Reminder for all students participating in Math Olympiad: There will be Math Olympiad on the Wednesday we return, so get plenty of rest and come back ready to problem solve!

Class List for Valentine's Day Cards

This Thursday at the 4B Valentine's Day Party, students will have the opportunity to exchange cards if they choose (not required). If they do choose to make cards, they should do so for all students in the class (We have 21 total students).

3) Turn in your iRead Reading Logs. You will have time to add up your minutes if you haven't yet. 
4) Turn in permission slips for next Tuesday's field trip if you haven't already.

2) Practice subtraction on Khan Academy if you are still having trouble or need practice with the standard algorithm.

-- A Six Flags Read to Succeed Reading Club Log is coming home today. This is an initiative run by Six Flags and is completely optional.

1) Wednesday is the last day of iRead!! Let's finish strong!! Read read read!
2) Next Tuesday, we are taking a field trip to Ravinia Festival for the "Reach, Teach, and Play" concert. Please return the forms at your earliest convenience!

NOTES AND UPDATES
- Math Night has been rescheduled for tomorrow night (February 5th)
- The 4th Grade Orchestra Concert has been rescheduled for next Wednesday (February 13th)
- We are collecting stuffed animals for Zac's Zoo. Click here to learn more. We will be collecting stuffed animals to donate in the main office. You’ll find a blue bucket in the office waiting area and students can bring stuffed animals or you can drop in the main office.
- Finally, I have heard that there are some issues with Chromebooks connecting at home. If your student is having trouble, please document the issue with a video or picture or note so that I can help figure it out! (I offered to make home visits, but students didn't seem too thrilled with that.)

2) Practice math on Khan Academy for 10-15 minutes. I prefer you work on your multi-digit addition and multi-digit subtraction, but if you have completed or mastered those topics, you may choose another area to work on.
